Superintendent Paul Myers shared the news on social media.
"Tonight our community is grieving. A family lost a child, a school lost a student and our entire community feels this tremendous loss. At a time like this, there is no way to express the grief we all are feeling. Right now our priorities are to respect the privacy of the student’s family and to take care of our students, families, staff and community. We have already arranged to have resources and extra support for our students, staff and families at school tomorrow and will do everything we know to take care of them in the days and weeks ahead. I am asking all members of the Fort Zumwalt community to please do what you can to support each other as we work through this difficult time."
The investigation is ongoing. This story will be updated when more information is available.
