ST. LOUIS — CityPark will soon be named Energizer Park starting next year thanks to a new naming rights partnership, officials announced Thursday.
Energizer has called St. Louis home for decades with its global headquarters now in Clayton. The battery company employs more than 400 people locally and more than 5,000 worldwide. It distributes products to 160 markets around the globe.
The company’s iconic Energizer Bunny has been banging its drums for 35 years.
A new look for the stadium also was unveiled during the press conference. Attendees cheered and applauded as pink fireworks erupted on the pitch.
“With their spirits and their energy, Energizer literally represents the power this stadium and our incredible fans produce on match day and beyond,” said Carolyn Kindle, St. Louis CITY SC CEO.
“The organization aligns with our club on numerous levels: bold, ambitious, innovative and STL made.”
Fans will start to see Energizer branding later this year across CITY SC’s club, stadium social channels, website and mobile app.
“We are so proud to attach and add our name to this magnificent stadium and to partner with CITY SC to help invest in St. Louis,” said Mark LaVigne, Energizer Holdings president and CEO.
“We’ve long aspired to make a bigger impact in the community and when you factor in our aspiration with the inspiration provided by this team, it was just a perfect combination at the right time for us.”
CITY SC quickly became known for its enthusiastic fan base and high-energy game day experiences upon its first MLS season in 2023. This helped the team become the first expansion team in MLS history to win its conference in its inaugural season.
With this new Energizer partnership, “We’re going to fully embrace that word, energy, in everything we do,” said Diego Gigliani, St. Louis CITY SC President and General Manager.
The stadium naming rights will begin Jan. 1, 2025. CITY SC and Energizer will work together to develop a community initiative for the 2025 season. Officials did not say how long the partnership will last.
The two organizations additionally will provide an immersive fan experience with a new premium seating area within Energizer Park.
“While our reach is global, we are proud of and committed to St. Louis,” LaVigne said. “This is our home.”
New stadium signage will be in place by next season’s home opener.
“We cannot wait to see fans pack Energizer Park and soak in this amazing atmosphere,” LaVigne said.
Energizer joins CITY SC’s increasing number of other high-profile, local sponsors, including Nestlé Purina PetCare, BJC HealthCare and Washington University Orthopedics, Together Credit Union, Lou Fusz Automotive Network, Anheuser-Busch InBev, Enterprise Mobility, World Wide Technology and Moneta.
All are dedicated to improving St. Louis by partnering with the club on community initiatives.
