JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — Eastbound Highway 30 was closed this morning in the House Springs and Cedar Hill after law enforcement arrested a man.

Police said Mark A. Delbrook, 58, of Cedar Hill is in custody and being held without bond on a charge of harassment in the first degree.

Deputies received a tip that Delbrook drove away from his home. Knowing of Delbrook’s warrant, a responding deputy attempted a traffic stop, causing Delbrook’s vehicle come to rest near Highway 30 and Executive Parkway. When officers engaged Delbrook, he refused to listen to the deputy’s commands. His uncooperation prompted authorities to call SWAT units and a crisis intervention specialist.

Traffic was shut down in both directions for a short time. Delbrook was eventually taken into custody with minimal incident. Rumors that shots were fired were circulating but police said that was not true.

Delbrook was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and is expected to be booked at the Jefferson County Jail afterward.

The story will be updated as more information becomes available.
