WOOD RIVER, IL – Churches on the Streets STL (COTS) collected non-clothing donations for Hurricane Helene survivors today from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. through 6 p.m. at Home Town Storage in Wood River, Ill.

COTS is helping people in North Carolina that are freezing after the hurricane ravaged their homes.

“It's now snowing, they're freezing, living outside, homeless in the mountains and we're collecting specific supplies to take to them again,” said the group on a social media posting.

They are not accepting non-thermal clothing donations because clothing is inundated for COTS and North Carolina.

  • Zero degree sleeping bags
  • 5-gallon buckets w/Amazon toilet seats
  • Canned heat
  • Survival bags (Amazon)
  • Muck/Rain/Winter Boots (all sizes)
  • Coats (all sizes)
  • Hats, scarves, gloves
  • Easy to read bibles kids/teens/adults
  • Rolled up waterproof camping mats
  • Holistic cold meds (not homemade)
  • Over the counter cold meds
  • N95 masks
  • Flashlights/lanterns/batteries
  • Visa gift cards
  • Financial donations to cover our traveling expenses, purchasing more donations by our boots on the ground to keep propane stocked and other supplies.
