ST. LOUIS – According to StorageCafe, St. Louis is the place to be for Halloween fans all year.
Halloween fans need not to travel to Los Angeles, Chicago, Minneapolis, nor Pittsburgh, because St. Louis is the creepy capital of the U.S.
StorageCafe analyzed 35 U.S. metro areas between October 2023 to September 2024 using metics like Google searches for Halloween keywords, households with children, foot traffic, and income. They also looked into electricity prices, storage unit rates, locations with spooky potential such as graveyards and historical buildings, age of the housing inventory, and population density.
St. Louis lead the nation with 53 Halloween-related searches per 1,000 residents and discovered that 25.1% of homes have kids under 18. The area boast 2.5 graveyards and historical locations per 100,000 residents and the age of homes averages over 50 years.
Kansas City was fifth on the list with most numbers trailing St. Louis incrementally. However, the western side of the state does boast a slightly larger population of homes with children under 18, at 27%.
