CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — A fairy garden called Whimsical Woods recently opened at Faust Park for children to explore and play.

It features hand-built cabins, tree houses, castles, barns, and other structures for fantastical creatures and natural inhabitants, according to St. Louis County.

Volunteers, parks staff, and members of the public created all of the structures displayed in the garden.

The idea came from a former park ranger and maintenance supervisor, Dries Albers.

His experience in nature and programming inspired the creation for visitors to engage with nature.
