ST. LOUIS—The parents of a Ritenour school district high schooler accused of having a loaded gun on campus this week have been charged in connection with the incident.

The teenager’s parents face felony charges of tampering with physical evidence.

They are accused of hiding a backpack full of ammunition related to the investigation against their son.

The teen was charged with making a terrorist threat at a high school, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest after police say he brought a loaded gun to Husky Academy, his current school, Tuesday.

He is also accused of making a threat against Ritenour High School, one of of several made in the district this month.

District officials learned about the threat after students saw it on social media. Ritenour High School was tagged in the post, according to the district.

The students notified administrators and sent in a submission through Missouri Highway Patrol’s Courage to Report Tipline.
