The former Ballwin Police Department is coming down. 

Demolition is underway for the building that went up in 1970, according to the city.

It housed almost every city department before eventually becoming the police department. 

The facility is no longer needed as a new police station opened nearby in 2023. 

The old location will turn into green space for Vlasis Park, adding nearly an acre.
