ST. LOUIS — From experiencing different cultures to trying new food, there are several events happening in the St. Louis area this weekend, Aug. 24-25.

Festival of Nations

The largest multicultural event in the region returns to Tower Grove Park this Saturday and Sunday, hosted by the International Institute of St. Louis.

More than 80 countries will be represented at the Festival of Nations. It will feature performers, food and retail vendors, in addition to a new International Fashion Show that will showcase diverse designers.

A first-ever “Welcome Home” theme song will be performed during the opening ceremony on Saturday at 12:30 p.m.

Trans & Queer Prom

LGBTQ+ community members and allies are invited to dance the night away at the Trans & Queer Prom 2024 set for Saturday at 7 p.m.

The event will take place at the Majorette where there will be a DJ, photobooth and a silent auction.

St. Louis Street Food Festival

The second annual St. Louis Street Food Festival is coming back to Ballpark Village Saturday and Sunday.

The event will feature St. Louis area’s best food trucks and restaurants from more than 20 vendors, live music, entertainment, food demonstrations, activities and games.

St. Charles Jewish Festival

The region’s only annual Jewish Festival is Sunday from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Lewis & Clark Boat House parking lot in St. Charles.

Organized by the Chabad Jewish Center of St. Charles County and The Gan St. Charles Preschool, the event will include upbeat Jewish music, family entertainment and traditional Jewish foods, such as kosher Israeli cuisine.

J’s Summer Used Book Sale

Shop among thousands of books available for sale starting Sunday morning at the J Used Book Sale in the Staenberg Family Complex.

In addition to books, there also will be homeschooling and other educational materials for sale. The event runs through next week.

Crime Prevention Resource Fair

Organized by Show Me Peace – Dutchtown, the Crime Prevention Resource Fair is Sunday from 3-6 p.m. at 3170 S. Compton Avenue.

The event will offer workshops, seminars, resource booths, interactive demos, and family activities.

Attendees have a chance to connect with local resources, learn preventative strategies and engage with community leaders who are committed to reducing crime and enhancing safety.
