Dan Harbaugh, the President and CEO of the Ronald McDonald House of Charities of St. Louis, has died, the organization said. He was 64.

Under his leadership, the Ronald McDonald House grew exponentially, expanding from one operating house to four. According to the organization's website, staff grew from just five members when Harbaugh joined, to employing over 35 workers with an annual revenue approaching $7 million.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities of St. Louis now support three hospitals and 49,000 families a year.

Over his 40 year career, Harbaugh helped support children and families through his work with Big Brothers, Big Sisters and the Ronald McDonald House, according to his obituary.

In lieu of flowers, the Harbaugh family requests donations to the Dan Harbaugh Endowment Fund through Ronald McDonald House Charities St. Louis, or St. John Vianney High School.

Harbaugh is survived by his wife Kelly and two children, Libby and Jack. A celebration of his life will be at St. Raphael, the Archangel Catholic Church on August 16, at 10 a.m.
