ST. LOUIS — A new mural near The Hill neighborhood was unveiled Thursday as part of the St. Louis Mural Project.

A total of 28 murals by local artists are in the works across the city’s 14 wards. Through an application process, alderpersons selected the artists for each mural earlier this year.

Several murals have already been completed, which feature either city pride, a historical significance or community engagement. Each ward will have two murals.

A $1.4 million grant in American Rescue Plan Act dollars funded the project. The artists were the sole recipients of the awarded funds for the completion of the murals.

The project is in partnership with the Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis (RACSTL) and the city of St. Louis.
