ST. LOUIS — The Muny has new premieres and shows that will generate nostalgia this summer.

The Muny hopes you will not be a poor, unfortunate soul and miss out on "The Little Mermaid." A young mermaid, Ariel, dreams to walk among the humans and is granted the chance to but at the cost of her angelic voice. Based on Disney’s 1989 animated film, theatergoers will hear “Under the Sea,” “Kiss the Girl,” and “Poor Unfortunate Soul,” among other songs. The Little Mermaid will air at 8:15 p.m. nightly through July 16. Tickets can be purchased here.

The musical “Fiddler on the Roof” will be performed for its 11th time from July 19-25. Tevye, a milkman, clings to the Jewish customs from his hometown in pre-Revolutionary Russia. Tevye must find new ways to learn and love while his daughters question the old-fashioned traditions and the world changes around them. Tickets can be purchased here for Fiddler on the Roof.

“Waitress” makes its Muny and Midwest regional premiere starting July 30 through Aug. 5. Jenna, a baker, dreams of escaping her job, small town, and rocky marriage. Music comes from Grammy Award winner Sara Bareilles and the story is an adaptation from the 2007 film of the same name. Tickets for Waitress can be purchased here.

“In the Heights” will premiere at the Muny from Aug. 9-15. Usnavi wants to leave Washington Heights, a tight-knit New York City neighborhood he grew up in. From the man who brought you Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda, conceived In the Heights from Quiara Alegria Hudes’ book. He also came up with the music and lyrics which are set to the beats of salsa and hip-hop. Tickets for In the Heights can be purchased here.

The Muny caps off the season with a show not seen on its stage in 25 years. Cole Porter’s comical musical “Anything Goes,” a tap-dancing romp, makes its grand return Aug. 19-25. Theater fans may remember its famous songs “I get a Kck Out of You,” “You’re the Top,” or “Anything Goes.” The Muny describes the story as “two unlikely pairs on the S.S. American set sail for true love and a boatload of comedic chaos.” Tickets for the 90 year old musical can be purchased here.
