St. Louis Mayor Tishaura Jones has endorsed Congresswoman Cori Bush for the upcoming election.
Bush was elected as the first Black Congresswoman from Missouri in 2020. The following year Jones became the first Black woman to be elected Mayor of the City of St. Louis.
“While in office, my sister-in-service, Mayor Jones, and I have partnered together to provide and distribute nearly half-a-billion dollars in investments through the American Rescue Plan," Congresswoman Cori Bush said in a press release. "These investments are paving the way for a more just and equitable St. Louis—from violence prevention programs, traffic calming measures, and right to counsel programs for people at risk of eviction to $150 million for North St. Louis. I am honored to receive the support of Mayor Jones, and to continue to show a generation of St. Louisans what it means to be unbought, unbossed, and unafraid to lead and deliver for our communities."
Jones said she is proud to endorse Bush and goes on to call her a proven leader, partner and coalition builder.
Bush also announced she received endorsements from various St. Louis Board of Alders members.
