ST. LOUIS — More than $30 million have been allocated for 295 small businesses and nonprofits in north St. Louis thanks to the St. Louis Development Corporation (SLDC).
SLDC’s North St. Louis Business and Nonprofit Grant program funding comes from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Relief Funds, which was passed by the City of St. Louis Community Development Administration, according to an online press release.
These awards are in addition to the $615,000 Capacity Building grants that have already been given to 144 businesses.
Seventy-seven businesses, including St. Louis Kettle Corn, A Peaceful Home Healthcare CDS, KJ’s on Broadway Bar and Grill, each qualified for a $15,000 stabilization grant to main operational support.
The grants totaled $1.15 million.
Pure Catering, Cardinal Home Health Care, Royalty Enterprises and 170 other businesses each qualified for a $25,000 operational expansion grant to either maintain or expand capacity.
The grants totaled more than $6 million.
Nonprofits and businesses such as Flance Management, Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis, Young Voice with Action and 19 others qualified for community enhancement grants for improvements and new construction.
The grants totaled more than $21.2 million, with the average enhancement award amount being $964,657.
STL Transportation, Hope House STL, Power4STL and 20 other established organizations qualified for façade improvement and community needs grants for expansion.
The grants totaled more than $1.79 million, with the average façade award being $78,062.
All grants are contingent upon an approved viability assessment and clearance from the St. Louis City Collector of Revenue and License Collector Offices, according to the press release.
