It’s almost the United States of America’s birthday and the Fourth of July celebrations have already begun. Throughout the region on both sides of the Mississippi River, there will be many public events and fireworks shows to celebrate Independence Day.

For those that opt to shoot off their own fireworks, there are communities that allow so legally but remember to keep safety at the forefront.

• O’Fallon, IL, Fireworks Over O’Fallon: Fireworks begin at “dusk” (approx. 8:30 p.m.).

• Webster Groves, MO, Webster Groves Community Days: children’s pet parade.

• Bridgeton, MO, Bridgeton Fourth of July Celebration: Parade, food trucks, live music, firework extravaganza at “dusk.”
• Chesterfield, MO, 4^th of July Fireworks Celebration: Pony rides, petting zoo, food trucks, kids zone, more, and fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
• Columbia, IL, 46^th Anniversary Celebration: Concessions, bingo, washers tournament, kloepper tournament, live music, and fireworks begin at “dusk.”
• Edwardsville, IL, Fourth of July Celebration: Live music, food trucks, other activities, and fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
• Eureka, MO, Independence Day Celebration: Live music, pyro-musical fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.

• Ferguson, MO, 4^th of July Celebration: Parade, family fun festival with inflatables, live music, and fireworks begins at 9:15 p.m.
• Godfrey, IL, Family Fun Fest: Festival, activities, vendors, and fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.
• Granite City, IL, Patriots in the Park: Live music and fireworks begin at 9:15 p.m.
• Highland, IL, 4^th of July Celebration: Fireworks begin at “dusk.”
• Jefferson County Fairgrounds, MO, July 4^th Celebration: Fireworks begin at “dusk.”
• Kirkwood Freedom Festival and Fireworks: Live music, food trucks, and fireworks begin at “dark.”
• Manchester, MO, Fourth of July Celebration: Live music, concessions, and fireworks begin at 9 p.m.
• Mascoutah, IL, Annual Old Fashioned July 4^th Celebration: Carnival, bounce houses, foam party, concessions, and fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m.
• O’Fallon, MO, Heritage and Freedom Fest: Festival grounds, carnival, concerts on the main stage, dino encounters, and more, plus Fireworks Spectacular at 9:30 p.m.
• St. Charles, MO Riverfest: Live music, carnival, children’s activities, and fireworks begins at 9:20 p.m.
• St. Louis, MO, Celebrate St. Louis: Parade, vendor booths, Eads Bridge 150 celebration, airshow, concerts, and fireworks framed by the Arch at 9:40 p.m.

• Cedar Hill, MO, 4^th of July Celebration: Live music, BBQ and drink vendor, and fireworks begin at “dark.”
