CHESTERFIELD, Mo. — The Cheesecake Factory inside the Chesterfield Mall is set to shut its doors in August.
The closure will affect approximately 101 employees, according to a letter from Cheesecake Factory Restaurants, Inc., to the city of Chesterfield. There is no union representing the employees.
The restaurant will close Aug. 18, according to the letter.
The Cheesecake Factory is one of the few remaining anchor tenants on the Chesterfield Mall property.
It is slated for a massive redevelopment project where developers and the city of Chesterfield hope it will turn into a “downtown” city center.
In 2022, the city of Chesterfield approved more than $350 million in tax increment financing for the $2 billion project.
A neighboring $1 billion redevelopment project is already underway.
The AMC Theatre that was also inside the mall closed in May of last year.
Chesterfield Mall still has a number of stores open, in addition to indoor pickleball and badminton courts available to the public.
The mall also currently is offering short-term leasing opportunities for offices, pop-ups, warehouse and storage.
