History tends to repeat itself and the same could be said for nature's history.

Six years ago, a black bear took social media by storm as it walked the streets of Ballwin. And this past weekend, it happened again as another black bear cub trotted through multiple neighborhoods.

Ballwin police officers were dispatched near Clayton and Kehrs Mill Road as calls rolled in. The Department of Conservation says they’re tracking the bear and believe it’s likely the same one seen strolling through Eureka a few days ago. Other social media accounts claim to have seen the bear cub as far east as Kirkwood.

Conservation specialists say if you see a bear, don’t corner it. Instead, back away slowly with your arms raised while speaking in a calm and loud voice. Do not run, and do not turn your back to a bear. If you see any wild bears in areas they shouldn't be in, click this link to alert professionals.
