ST. LOUIS — LGBTQ+ St. Louisans plan to march through the Grove Saturday night in solidarity with Palestine and as a plea for Pride STL to cut ties with Boeing.

The “No Pride Against Genocide” protest and rally will start at 7 p.m. at Manchester and Kingshighway, according to a Facebook post by Maxi Glamour.

“Pride St. Louis must cut ties with Boeing, a company fueling and profiting from the violence against Palestine, then pinkwashing its name by being the main sponsor of the pride parade,” Glamour said on Facebook.

Boeing has been a sponsor of Pride STL’s annual PrideFest for years. And this year, the company will present the Grand Pride Parade set for June 30.

“It is necessary to amplify our voices for peace, justice and human rights! The advancement of Queer liberation is impossible unless connected to Palestinian liberation,” Glamour said on Facebook.

A post by the Facebook Bi+ Visibility STL page states, “There’s nothing to be proud of about this, and there’s certainly no liberation in it. Please stand up with our community to make your feelings known about this.”

PrideFest brings hundreds of thousands of people to St. Louis annually with nearly 300,000 in 2019.
