ST. LOUIS — The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department (SLMPD) has launched an investigation after a video surfaced online of what appears to be an officer lighting a cigar while arresting a male subject.

The video was originally posted by Voice of the People News. SLMPD said the officer was working a second job for Marquee Lounge when the establishment asked the officer to remove the man from the premises.

The department also confirmed that some officers who were on the scene were equipped with body cameras.

The male subject was taken into custody for trespassing on private property and resisting arrest.

No injuries were reported.
