ST. LOUIS — Learn about air taxis and sky highways in the new IMAX film about the future of cities, which will premiere Friday, May 3, at the St. Louis Science Center.
Narrated by John Krasinski, the 3D documentary called “Cities of the Future” explores sustainable living and innovative engineering solutions that address climate change, according to a press release.
Viewers can follow the journey of Paul Lee, a civil engineer who has spent his career fighting for climate change through renewable energy and sustainable projects. He currently is leading Los Angeles in a plan to be 100% energy self-sufficient by 2045.
The documentary also captures Amsterdam, where residents use bicycles and where wind is used for energy. Viewers also will see Singapore, dubbed “the Garden City” for its revolutionary cooling systems that integrate nature into its infrastructure.
The audience also will take a glimpse at air taxis, a highway in the sky and a town powered by windmills.
The documentary also features a Future Cities Competition where 12- and 13-year-olds shared their visions for creating sustainable cities.
