BELLEVILLE, Ill. — Strawberry picking is back at Eckert’s Belleville Farm beginning Wednesday, April 24.
Guests can pick fresh fruit daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., according to a press release. Reservations can be made online.
Eckert’s also has launched its first Sip, Show and Support series where 10% of Pick-Your-Own sales will be donated to charity. There will be “round up” donation jars, where $1 of each hard cider sold will be given to charity.
“We are thrilled to kick off this year’s Pick-Your-Own Season with our homegrown strawberries and the Sip, Shop, & Support Series,” said Chris Eckert, president. “Each year, we strive to make Eckert’s a more enjoyable visit for our guests and also find ways to give back to our community.
He added, “This series allows us to get the community involved while donating to foundations that are meaningful to the farm and our guests. We hope to make a difference for each charity by the end of the 2024 season.”
The farm’s highly anticipated Strawberry Festival also will return early next month. It will feature carnival rides, a petting zoo, strawberry picking, tractor rides and more.
The festival will run every weekend in May from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Later this summer, Eckert’s will offer blackberry, peach and apple picking for visitors.
