ST. LOUIS — Paul Johnson, an ultra-runner and veteran, finished his route from LA to NYC this week, totaling 3,000 miles. He ran through parts of St. Charles County earlier this month.

Johnson raised $500,000 for the Team Red, White & Blue nonprofit organization, according to his Instagram page.

While in St. Charles County, several runners joined him for a distance along Route N Route N in Cottleville in windy and rainy conditions.

Johnson began on March 1 in Los Angeles with hopes of breaking the transcontinental record of 42 days, 6 hours and 30 minutes. He completed his route in 52 days, 2 hours and 29 seconds, according to his website.
