ST. LOUIS — Swade Cannabis has partnered with chefs at four local restaurants for an infused dinner series called “Best Buds.”

Chefs at participating restaurants such as Up Late STL, Pie Guy Pizza, El Molino del Sureste and iNDO will have cannabis infused sauces or jelly for customers to add onto their orders.

This will allow customers to go at their own pace, according to Brandon Cavanagh, director of marketing strategy at BeLeaf Medical Co., the parent company of Swade Cannabis.

“This was something that we’ve been wanting to do for a while. There’s a lot of crossover historically, I think, between cannabis and the culinary world,” Cavanagh said.

The chefs will use High Five’s STiRiBLES, a flavorless THC powder from Missouri-based cannabis manufacturer Teal Labs, according to Cavanagh.

The doses will be as little as five milligrams.

“We’re not going to be influencing the flavor of the dish in any way,” Cavanagh said.  “And we will be able to exactly control the dosage.”

The first monthly dinner series was held last weekend at Up Late STL at their Delmar and Vandeventer locations.

Customers who ordered breakfast sandwiches online could choose to add on a cannabis infused jelly for free.

“We have been blown away by the interest from chefs to learn more about using tinctures, butters and stirrables in their cooking, and we are happy we can act as a bridge between curious consumers and the hospitality industry,” Cavanagh said.

“This is no different than a wine dinner or a cocktail pairing dinner. The chefs will throw down, and the vibes will be right.”
