ST. LOUIS — Transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney is slated to speak at Saint Louis University Monday, April 22.

Mulvaney experienced a backlash last year for her partnership with Bud Light. She had posted an Instagram video of herself opening a can of Bud Light that was sent to her as a corporate freebie.

The video sparked anger from Bud Light customers and hurt beer sales, according to the Associated Press.

Mulvaney has cited a lack of support from Bud Light in the face of the uproar, which infuriated the audience Bud Light was trying to reach.

Mulvaney is set to speak about her journey as a trans actress, activist and content creator at the Wool Ballroom at 7 p.m., according to the event page.

The appearance is hosted by SLU’s Student Activities Board (SAB) and the Great Issues Committee (GIC).
