ST. CHARLES COUNTY, Mo.—Construction to add a third lane of traffic in each direction on Interstate 70 and reconfigure the interchange with Interstate 64 in Western St. Charles County on’t begin until next year,, but drivers will see some impacts of the project starting Monday as surveyors get to work.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation:
The left lane of westbound I-64 between Route K and Prospect Road will be closed daily from 6 a.m. to noon Monday April 15 through Friday, April 19.
The left lane of eastbound I-64 will be closed between Prospect Road and Route K daily from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday, April 19 through Thursday, April 25.
The left lane on eastbound I-70 between David Hoekel Parkway and Wentzville Parkway will close daily from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday, April 15 through Friday, April 19.
Further west in Warren County there will be lane restrictions starting Monday night, westbound at the Missouri Route 47 interchange with I-70 from 9 p.m. Monday April 15 until 6 a.m. on Tuesday April 16, and another on westbound, east of the Wright City interchange that starts at 9 p.m. Tuesday and extends through 6 a.m. on Wednesday April 17.
Construction bids on the Wentzville to Warrenton portion of the I-70 project should go out later this year. The work itself would begin in 2025 and last into 2028. The entire $2.8 billion project stretches from Wentzville to Blue Springs.
