ST. CHARLES — The city of Charles is looking for imaginative, dynamic and creative imagery for its second “Paint the Town” festival set for May in Frenchtown.

The event, located along Second Street, will feature live, asphalt art installations completed by local artists, according to the contest guidelines.

Artists who want to leave their mark on Frenchtown can submit their designs for a chance to be featured. Those who live in Missouri and surrounding areas are eligible to apply.

The deadline is March 4.

City officials will select artists or teams of artists to create several original public art installations at three intersections along Second Street.

A total of $5,000 per intersection will be used to cover the cost of materials.

“Paint the Town” is set for May 18-19.
