ST. LOUIS — A new store featuring local businesses is set to open at the Missouri History Museum on Valentine’s Day.

Sold on St. Louis will feature brands such as Arch Apparel, Salt + Smoke, Golden Gems, Kakao Chocolate Company, Old Vienna and more, according to an online press release.

Other vendors that have been exclusively online such as Pure Perfection Candles and Ridge Trail Honey will have a presence at the store.

Sold on St. Louis is anticipated to be a place to find one-of-a-kind gifts, art and specialty items, according to the press release.

The grand opening and ribbon cutting on Feb. 14 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. coincides with St. Louis City’s 260th birthday.

“Our love for this city, on its birthday and every day, means we want to connect its impressive past with a vibrant future,” said Jody Sowell, president and CEO of the Missouri Historical Society.

“We are so proud to support a wide variety of St. Louis artisans and creators, many of whom have never been featured in a brick-and-mortar storefront.”

The grand opening event will feature a performance by the Red and Black Brass Band. Regular store hours will be Tuesday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with extended hours for Thursday Nights at the Museum events.

“By connecting shoppers with these local vendors, we can directly boost our local economy, showcase the work of local creators, and enhance the profile of St. Louis,” Sowell said.

Missouri Historical Society members can get an exclusive preview on Feb. 13 from 6-8 p.m. with a 10% discount, according to a Missouri History Museum Facebook post.

The Missouri History Museum is located at 5700 Lindell Boulevard.
