ST. LOUIS — Thousands of vibrant orchids are returning to the Missouri Botanical Garden this winter for the Orchid Show that begins Jan. 27 through Feb. 25.
The garden’s orchid collection includes more than 5,000 individual plants that represent nearly 700 unique kinds of orchids, according to a press release.
Almost one in 10 orchids in the collection is threatened or endangered.
The Orchid Show admission is included with general admission to the garden, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
Tickets are $16 for adults, $6 for St. Louis City and County residents, with free admission Wednesdays and Saturdays until noon and free for children ages 12 and younger.
To see a special lighted viewing of the Orchid Show in the evening, Orchid Nights will take place Feb. 8 and Feb 22 from 6 to 8 p.m.
Tickets are $15 for garden members and $20 for nonmembers that includes live music and one drink ticket drinks with food available for purchase, according to the press release.
The Missouri Botanical Garden is located at 4344 Shaw Boulevard.
