ST. LOUIS—Billy Joel and Sting will perform at Busch Stadium on Friday Sept. 27, the St. Louis Cardinals and Live Nation announced Thursday morning.

Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday Jan. 12 at 10am CST on LiveNation.com. Access for Citi card members starts Monday Jan. 8 at 10am.

It will be Joel’s second time in concert at Busch Stadium, following a September 2017 performance

“The beauty of both guys is they can still really sing. It’s not, you know talking through lyrics it’s not oh I’ll save the high notes for another day. They both hit all the high stuff and I think that’s what makes them much cooler,” said broadcaster and St. Louis native Joe Buck, who made the announcement.

“They’ve become really, I think the events of the summer, because it’s such an iconic venue, great skyline, it’s outdoors. There’s an elevated sort of ambiance to it. And you’ve got 40,000 plus people at a concert and I think all of that creates what I view as just sort of this big stage that really no other venue can provide in the middle of the summer in the heart of St. Louis,” said Cardinals team President Bill DeWitt III.

Logistical hurdles typically limit Busch Stadium to hosting only a handful of concerts annually. The stadium will host Journey, Cheap Trick and Def Leppard in July. Concert organizers say Joel and Sting will only have a small number of joint concerts as part of a tour.

The concert would come five days after the home regular season finale for the Cardinals Sept. 22 against Cleveland.
