ST. LOUIS—A Hollywood film will be shot in St. Louis next month and the call is going out for extras.

The movie “On Fire” will be directed by Sean McNamara and will reportedly star William H. Macy, John Corbett, Joel Courtney, Devon Franklin and Stephanie Szostak.

It is based on the book “On Fire: 7 choices to Ignite a Radically Inspired Life” written by St. Louis native John O’Leary, who was burned over 100% of his body at the age of 9.

Adult extras for the movie are needed between Nov. 6 and Dec. 9., according to casting information. The extras will portray roles such as college students, hospital employees, diner patrons, prisoners, professional baseball players, Busch Stadium employees and more.

Those interested are being asked to sign up as soon as possible and before Nov. 6. You can learn how to sign up on the casting company’s website.

John O’Leary released a YouTube video where he talked about the producers being in town already. He said Macy, known for “Shameless” and “Fargo” among others,  will play legendary Cardinals announcer Jack Buck. Joel Courtney, known for roles in “Super 8” and “The Kissing Booth” will play O’Leary.

This is also believed to be the first feature to take advantage of Missouri’s new production tax credit that when into effect earlier this year, according to deadline.com.

McNamara told deadline.com O’Leary is “the kind of person that makes us remember how lucky we are to be alive, and that all that happens to us can be a blessing. In these troubled times we need to live an “inspired life.” I can’t wait for the world to join us and discover who John O’Leary is and how we can all live “On Fire.””

McNamara is known for his work directing movies including as Reagan, Vindicta as well as numerous TV movies and shows.
