ST. LOUIS — A new music festival is coming to Forest Park this weekend, Aug. 26-27, that will feature Grammy award-winning singers and rock bands.
Evolution Festival was created by Steve Schankman and Joe Litvag, who were “inspired by the love for their hometown and the belief that festivals are a catalyst for building a stronger community,” according to a Forest Park Forever press release.
Over the course of two days, more than 15 national and regional performers will take the stage. Attendees also will have the chance to experience unique barbeque and bourbon.
Saturday’s lineup will include The Black Keys, The Black Crowes, and Sunday’s lineup will be Brandi Carlile, and Ben Harper and The Innocent Criminals, according to the event’s Facebook page.
The festival will take place in Langenberg Field and The Boat House.
Other performers include Ice Cube, Morgan Wade, Cautious Clay, Michigander, Modern English, Nikki Lane, The Sugarhill Gang, The Nude Party and local artists such as The Knuckles, Yard Eagle and Punk Lady Apple.
“The inaugural Evolution Festival will offer guests an elevated festival experience that will unfold in an unforgettable weekend with the best in live music, a spotlight on bourbon (one of the country’s fastest-growing spirits) and unique barbeque creations, curated by St. Louis’ own Sugar Fire Smoke House,” the press release states.
