BRENTWOOD, Mo. — Brentwood gives the greenlight to a $436 million redevelopment project  along Manchester Road.

The city’s Board of Aldermen approved the agreement for Green Street Real Estate Ventures to redevelop more than 40 acres on both sides of Manchester Road from just east of Brentwood Boulevard to Hanley Road.

“The Board of Aldermen has made a bold decision to ensure a bright future for the Brentwood community by renewing an area of our city,” said Brentwood Mayor David Dimmitt in a statement.

The proposed plans for the Manchester Road Corridor Redevelopment Project include a 30 unit condominium, a hotel, a 660 unit apartment complex, offices, retail and parking.

Mayor Dimmitt says its Brentwood Bound project, which included flood mitigation, road improvements along Manchester and the Deer Creek Greenway Connector, has made the new redevelopment project a possibility.

In the agreement, the Board of Aldermen approved a property tax break as an incentive to redevelop and revitalize the area.

The first phase of construction is scheduled to begin in 2025. Prior to construction, the developer will have to acquire all property within the redevelopment area and eminent domain will be used if necessary.
