ST. LOUIS — Ameren customers who have experienced damages due to power outages may be eligible for reimbursements.
Severe weather last weekend knocked down trees and power lines across the St. Louis region, which left, at one point, about 90,000 Ameren Missouri and Illinois customers without power. It has taken days for the company to restore power.
Under the Public Utilities Act, Ameren Illinois customers can complete a Claim Form for damages, such as food spoilage, caused by a power interruption, outage surge or other fluctuations, according to the company’s website.
Ameren will send the customer a written confirmation after receiving the form and will “communicate its proposed resolution of the claim to the customer,” the website states.
Claims are resolved typically within 90 days.
