Roughly a year since record flash flooding forced it to close, University City’s Heman Park pool reopens to the public Saturday.
The pool has been closed since late July, when record rainfall did roughly $760,000 in damage to the complex. Repairs included new electrical work, fencing and pool pumps among other improvements.
Pool hours are noon to 6 p.m. daily. Daily admission rates run from between $4 to $9 per person. For the time being, the pool won’t offer a lap swimming hour or swim lessons.
The city says the management company that provides lifeguards and staff for the pool is still looking for candidates.
