HERMANN, Mo.–A Hermann officer shot in the line of duty earlier this month is slowly recovering, according to his family.

Adam Sullentrup’s family released an update through the Hermann Police Department’s Facebook page, saying while Adam is still in the ICU and stable, he continues to improve each day. 

The post says it will be a long road to complete recovery but are confident with continued patience, love, excellent medical care and the grace of God, he will continue on the path to a full and complete recovery. 

Sullentrup’s family also thanks everyone for their continued love and support, as well as the Casey’s employees, first responders and others whose quick and initial actions saved Adam’s life. They also mentioned the doctors, nurses and other medical staff providing excellent care to Adam and their family.

The also took time to mention that the support from the law enforcement community, including nearly every police agency around St. Louis, has been incredible.

Sullentrup was injured in a shooting March 12 that killed Det. Sgt. Mason Griffith. Kenneth Lee Simpson has been charged with murder and assault in the crime that happened during an altercation at the Casey’s General store.
