ST. LOUIS — St. Patrick’s Day is about a week away, however, several celebration events begin this weekend in the St. Louis area.
The 54th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is set for noon on Saturday, March 11, starting at 20th and Market streets. The parade will then proceed east and end at Broadway and Clark streets.
The 5k run will take place downtown beginning at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 11. A portion of the registration fees will be donated to The Backstoppers, Inc., St. Patrick Center, Kids Rock Cancer, and Atlas Public Schools.

The third annual Defiance St. Patrick’s Day Festival is happening Saturday, March 11. The day will begin at 9 a.m. with a 5K walk/run on the Katy Trail starting and ending at Good News Brewing Company.
A parade will take place after starting at Defiance Ridge Vineyards and will go through downtown Defiance at noon.
Following the parade there will be live music at the town square with vendors, food, drinks and more from local businesses.

The seventh annual Creve Coeur St. Paddy’s Half Marathon and 7K race is set for Saturday, March 11, at 8:30 a.m.
Proceeds will go toward the St. Louis Regional Chapter of the ALS Association.

The refurbished Public School House in Cottleville will host a St. Patrick’s themed pop-up bar Saturday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
There will be live and DJ entertainment, Irish cocktails and beer, and festive decorations. Public School House is located at 5546 Chestnut Street in Cottleville.

A St. Patrick’s Day pub crawl will take place in downtown Alton, Illinois, Saturday, March 11, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
A free shuttle will be available transporting people to participating bars and restaurants throughout the day.

A Lucky Leprechaun 5K on Saturday, March 11, will kick off the day’s festivities beginning at 9:30 a.m. The race will start and end at Union United Methodist Church, proceed through the streets of Belleville.
The Ancient Order of the Hibernians Parade will follow the race ending with the block party on Main Street that will feature live music, DJs, food trucks, vendors, and more from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Florissant’s second annual St. Patrick’s Day events will take place Sunday, March 12, starting with a 5K run at 9 a.m. The race will begin at Duchesne Home Association Grounds.
After the race, the parade will take place at Duchesne Elementary School at noon. A festival also will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Duchesne Home Association Grounds.
