CRESTWOOD, Mo. — The countdown is on for the opening of Dierbergs in Crestwood Crossing as the marquee says it is about 20 days until completion.

Open interviews for the Crestwood Dierbergs took place last month for full-time and part-time positions across many departments, according to an online press release.

Dierbergs and McBride Homes were chosen by the city of Crestwood to redevelop the former site of the Crestwood Plaza mall located at Watson and Sappington roads. A groundbreaking ceremony took place in April 2022.

The first phases of Crestwood Crossing development include a full-service grocery store, restaurant, retail, 81 single-family style homes, gathering spaces, and a bicycle and pedestrian bridge over Gravois Creek to connect to the Grant’s Trail Greenway.

McBride had three residential options for homebuyers to choose from, including the estates, the manors and the townhomes. Alexis Yancey, a sales consultant with McBride, told Spectrum News that they are almost sold out of the 81 lots with only seven townhomes left.

She noted that construction recently began on the first homes and the first closings are expected to take place between June and July.

The McBride lots sold out fast last spring as prospective homebuyers camped out days in advance to secure contracts on their preferred spots.

Future phases of the project will include more development to the west of the new Dierbergs shopping center and on several lots to the east facing Watson Road.
