ST. LOUIS–The St. Louis Science Center has been ranked the second best free museum in the country in the USA TODAY 10 Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

The museum also came in fifth place in the best science museum category. It’s the second year in a row that it earned that distinction.

A panel of experts and USA TODAY’S 10Best editors selected the St. Louis Science Center for consideration. Readers then voted daily for the favorites in each category. There were twenty other museums and organizations in each category.

“The Science Center is honored to have ranked in the top 5 in both of these categories, which featured esteemed organizations from across the country,” said Todd Bastean, president and CEO of the Science Center. “This honor is a testament to the nationwide reputation of our institution, as well as recognition of the impact our team makes locally and regionally as we inspire everyone to be curious and engaged in science.”

The museum says that during 2022, it served nearly half a million people.
