ST. LOUIS —St. Louis Police, the FBI and ATF are working to piece together what happened during a high school shooting that killed a teacher and student, injured at least 6 others and ended with the suspected gunman being shot by police. There are no classes Tuesday for Central Visual and Performing Arts High School and Collegiate School of Medicine and Bioscience. The schools, which share a campus in south St. Louis, were the scene of the shooting.

Police said the shooter was 19-year-old Orlando Harris, a 2021 graduate of the school. He lived in south St. Louis City with his family and had no prior run-ins with police. Officials are still investigating a motive. 

Tuesday morning, the St. Louis Public Schools confirmed 61-year-old P.E. teacher Jean Kuczka died along with 15-year-old Alexzandria Bell, a student at the school. Six other teenagers suffered a variety of injuries including gun wounds, abrasions and broken bones.
