KIRKWOOD, Mo. — Salt + Smoke will open its first to-go and counter service inside Schnucks in Kirkwood this fall as part of a new barbecue concept called, “Oh Hey! Barbecue.”

“Oh Hey! Barbecue” will be part of the Schnucks Food Hall along with Seoul Taco and The Greek Kitchen, according to a press release. It will replace The Shaved Duck, which left earlier this year.

The food hall opened last year and offers each restaurant partner a small service counter, a common seating and dining area.

The new barbecue concept will give customers a chance to get their favorite Salt + Smoke items for themselves and families while shopping for groceries, or stop in on their lunch break, according to Tom Schmidt, owner of Salt + Smoke.

“We’re humbled and thrilled to be partnering with Schnucks, alongside some of our favorite restaurants in the city,” he said in a press release.

“With ‘Oh Hey! Barbecue,’ we’re going to bring St. Louisans their familiar favorites from Salt + Smoke, like our smoked brisket and white cheddar cracker mac, but we'll be adding new items like onion rings and baby back ribs and offering new versions of our famous sides.”

The menu will include classic Salt + Smoke favorites and new items, according to a press release.

“We welcome ‘Oh Hey! Barbecue’ to our store and to the Kirkwood community -- a city that we have served for nearly 70 years,” Schnucks Kirkwood Store Manager Eric Pritchett said.

“Our communities depend on local businesses, and they, in turn, depend on Schnucks, and that’s why we continue to partner with local restaurants, farmers and vendors to support the best the Midwest has to offer and provide these products to our customers.”

The Kirkwood Schnucks is located at 10233 Manchester Road. For more information about the food hall, click here.
