ST. LOUIS – After months of detours and a delay due to flooding, Manchester Road on both sides of Hanley is now open again.
The stretch of Manchester west of Hanley closed May 1 so MoDOT could replace the Black Creek Bridge. All businesses were accessible during the work but drivers had to find an alternate for the busy intersection.
Crews will continue working on sidewalk and other projects further west on Manchester Road.
Brentwood is also working with MoDOT to improve pedestrian access and safety as part of its comprehensive plan to renew the Manchester corridor between Hanley Road and Brentwood Blvd. When the work is complete, there will be a pedestrian tunnel at Manchester and Mary Avenue, decorative lighting and street signs as well as other enhancements.
