ST. LOUIS — As the St. Louis area was significantly impacted by this week’s historic record rainfall, multiple area organizations are accepting donations to help flood victims.

Residents and businesses with damage or those who need assistance can call the United Way at 211 where officials can direct callers to the proper aid programs and so that damage can be inspected either by the county or the appropriate municipality.

The St. Louis Area Foodbank is collecting monetary donations to those affected by the recent flooding and ongoing food security challenges.

The American Red Cross of Missouri is accepting blood donations. The donation center on Lindell Boulevard was closed Friday due to flooding. Those who wish to give blood can visit the organization’s website or app for additional locations.

The Humane Society of Missouri is taking monetary donations for the Best Buddy Center that flooded nearly 10 inches of water. All of the animals were moved and are safely accounted for, but the center anticipates hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages.

The United Way of Greater St. Louis created a flood relief fund to support immediate and long-term recovery efforts. All donations will go toward helping recovery efforts, and the organization is partnering with Community Organizations Active in Disaster and Long-Term Recovery Committees.

A food service nonprofit, Operation BBQ Relief, came to St. Louis earlier this week to provide barbeque meals to those impacted by the flooding. The organization is accepting monetary donations to help with serving hot meals to those in need.
