ST. LOUIS- With just over a week until Missouri’s primary election, Attorney General Eric Schmitt has the lead in a pair of polls out Monday in the state’s closely-watched U.S. Senate race.

A survey released Monday morning by The Missouri Scout conducted by Remington Research shows Schmitt with a 32-25-18 edge over U.S. Rep. Vicky Hartzler and former Missouri Gov. Eric Greitens.

Late Monday afternoon, a Trafalgar Group poll showed Schmitt at 26.5 %, Hartzler at 24.4 % and Greitens at 20.2 %. With a 2.9 % margin of error, it’s a statistical dead heat for the lead.

Schmitt, coming off a Saturday swing through the state that started in Cottleville with U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, was in Washington, D.C. Monday addressing the America First Policy Institute, a two-day conference that former President Donald Trump will headline Tuesday.

Trump’s potential endorsement in the race has loomed for months, with national Republicans concerned that a move to back Greitens could jeopardize the seat in November. So far, the former President has only said that he won’t endorse Hartzler in the race.

Hartzler and U.S. Sen. Josh Hawley are on the campaign trail together Monday night in Lee’s Summit. Hartzler will be in Chesterfield Wednesday night. Greitens is in Kansas City for a “politics and a pint” interview with local radio station KCMO.
