ST. LOUIS- Missouri lawmakers gave final passage Friday to a $3.4 billion bill that uses federal funds from the 2021 American Rescue Plan Act to pay for projects and programs across the state, including a number of projects benefiting the St. Louis area.
St. Charles Community College: $18 million for a workforce technical innovation and transformation campus in the Wentzville/Foristell area
University of Missouri-St. Louis: $40 million for a project that would consolidate academics on the school’s north campus and turn the south campus into a mixed use retail and business incubator district.
St. Louis Community College-Florissant Valley: $20 million for a Center for Nursing and Health Sciences.
Metropolitan Education and Training Center (MET Center): $4 million for workforce job training.
Jamestown Mall demolition: $6 million
Harris-Stowe State University: $15.5 million for a STEM academic building.
Columbia Bottom Conservation Area: $27 million for levee setback and road relocation.
In many, if not all cases, projects will still require other funding sources for completion. Governor Mike Parson must still sign the bill into law.
