JEFFERSON COUNTY, Mo. — Police in Jefferson County arrested two juveniles Wednesday morning who were involved in a police chase that started in Jackson, Missouri.
A Cape Girardeau County sheriff's deputy spotted a vehicle that had been reported stolen. The deputy began to pursue the vehicle on I-55, which ended in Jefferson County.
There were shots allegedly fired along the way from the suspect's vehicle. It is unclear who the suspects were firing at, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
There was a large police presence at I-55 and Highway 141 where the suspect's vehicle had bumped into the on-ramp guard rail, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.
The vehicle then came to stop and the suspects fled on foot. After a short manhunt, Jefferson County deputies arrested one of the juveniles involved. Hours later, Arnold police arrested a second juvenile believed to be involved in the pursuit.
Officers said they found multiple weapons in the vehicle.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said that all of the suspects involved have either been arrested or are no longer in Jefferson County.
The investigation is ongoing.
