ST. LOUIS — Missouri motorists now have the opportunity to customize their license plates featuring the Gateway Arch.

Drivers can make annual or bi-annual donations to the Jefferson National Parks Association to have Gateway Arch license plates with a custom message. Donations are tax deductible, according to the association’s website.

The steps for first-time applicants and to renew arch license plates are online. The cost is $25 for one year or $50 for two years and the association will send “Emblem Use Authorization Statement" as a tax-deductible receipt. 

Custom arch plates are allowed up to six characters, or five characters and one space, dash or apostrophe. Drivers can preview specialty plates one the Missouri Department of Revenue’s website
