HONOLULU — A portion of Round Top Drive reopened Friday after being closed in Dec. 2021 following heavy rains that caused a landslide.
The City and County of Honolulu announced in a news release that repairs near 4120 Round Top Drive, which began in May 2022, were now complete.
This allows motorists, bikers, or runners to travel along the complete Tantalus Loop from Round Top Drive to Tantalus Drive.
However, road work at the Hogsback, the one-lane roadway near 3798 Tantalus Drive, will begin on Aug. 28. City officials estimate these road repairs will be completed by March 2024.
Work on the Hogsback will occur from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on weekdays, excluding holidays. The roadway will be closed intermittently for construction purposes.
