Both Kansas and Missouri Highway patrol officers will be out in full force this entire week of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Kansas Highway patrol said it will team up with local cities on the Kansas side to watch for distracted and impaired drivers with the Thanksgiving Safe Arrival Traffic Enforcement campaign, which is a grant funded through KDOT.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, from 2019 to 2023, 53 people died in crashes during the Thanksgiving holiday period.
