A preliminary magnitude 3.8 earthquake off the coast of southern Maine occurred at 10:22 a.m. Monday. It happened 10 km, or about 6 miles, southeast of York Harbor.
There have been reports of shaking felt across southern New England, including parts of Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts.
There is no tsunami threat.
