A winter storm moving across the state has brought heavy snowfall overnight. It will continue to bring scattered snow showers with some heavy squalls through Thursday afternoon.
Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Warnings remain in effect across Maine for the rest of Thursday. The heaviest snowfall has already come down, but a few additional inches are possible as scattered snow showers move through this afternoon and evening.

After the clipper system pulls away Friday, the coldest air of the season arrives as we head into the weekend. Gusty winds, along with a very cold air mass, will bring below normal temperatures and subzero wind chills and single digit temperatures for parts of the state.
Strong gusty winds could lead to blowing snow across interior Maine, so use extra caution on the roads.
